Sadly some are still pixelated in Google Earth. Do you know the Lat/Long for all of them?

Some are still an Airfield today, thats why they are pixelate.
Because of the terrorist threat after, September 11....

Although the topic title suggests otherwise,
the first allied airfield, was built in October 1944.

B.77 Gilze-Rijen, was the first Allied Airfield in the Netherlands.
An Auster, from the 658 Air Observation Post (AOP) Squadron,
the first plane that arrived.

Ruud, you wil find many airfields at my site about abandoned and little known airfields, with a lat-long included. Only airfields I did not investigate were those that are the well known active military and civilian airfields. Enjoy, but keep in mind the site is under construction.

For anyone interested in this ...go to ScribD(Google it) , create an account (free) and download a free PDF copy of US Air Force-USAAF- European Airfields (Covers France Benelux and Germany).
Also USAF - USAAF Bases in the UK - a seperate publication.

They are not infallible but certainly are a good grounding on USAAF fields in the UK and Europe in WW2.
