Mystere IV making out they are Mig-15 and 17 on the Colinski airfield at Spadeadam

Probably one of the most common foreign jets in our UK aircraft museums due to their financing by the US under MAP

There were rows of these and others at Sculthorpe at one time - photos anyone ?

Not Sculthorpe but Savigny-lès-Beaune with some real Migs lurking in the background

I know the reason why the Mysteres were at Sculthorpe, but I still find it odd tha American government didnt say to the French keep them!

This was probably about the time General de Gaulle pulled the french out of the NATO military command structure so there was no way the americans were going to give them a reward

Plus the french would probably have passed them on or sold them to other third world countries and the americans didnt want them to increase their sphere of influence at their expense
