Very strange that my small Welsh village by the coast, now has a Spitfire AND a Hunter in the local ATC, newly painted for the better !!
in a non aviation area, we have 2 super stars of the sky ...go figure !

With regards to what paint was used on RAF Waddington 8 Squadron's Hawker Hunter XE606/620.

Dacrylate product

Vinaprime post abrasive work, Primer 'Buff-primer' adaptor-coat to seal in previous coating which it appear to hold-in.
Dacthane (gloss finish) Urethane Alkyd Enamel

Dacthane was Green-Grey- also roundels -bars. Black nose and tail fin item Dacthane again only in 'Eggshell' finish.

Dacrylate of Sutton-in-Ashfield Nottingham

NA

Non- aviation area? You got Margam Sands and Porthcawl ranges just down the road :)

with issues about entry to the airfield after hours i believe the gates may soon open to the public assuming more business continues to use the airfield, could become the coolest industrial estate ever !!

Hi Rich, many of the Hunters (and other jets) aren't based here as such, but come in and out for maintenance, both XF515 and XF357 belong to the Dutch Hawker Hunter Foundation at Leeuwarden. Unfortunately I've only seen '515 the once.
Miss D, WT723 and XL573 along with T.8M XL602 (in bits) are based at Saints though.

WW2nut, not sure what you mean there or whether you mean St Athan even, but as long as the MoD and SF is here I don't think the gates will be opening.
