De Havilland Chipmunk

I'm quite surprised to see that there isn't already a DH Chipmunk thread already here in the Aircraft section. Well, here it is then.

It's an important year for the venerable old Chippie as it celebrates it's 70th anniversary this year & this was marked in style last Sunday (22 May) at Old Warden with a fly-in of aircraft including three types from Denmark. All in all 49 took part (50 if you include the Shuttleworth example in the Hangars being worked on) & was a thoroughly enjoyable day & great way to celebrate this great aeroplane. For G-AKON read G-AKDN and currently up for sale although I suspect , not for peanuts ! Not really sure if Chipmunks eat peanuts ? Details here ;

This one was eating the wiring on the bosses car!

He's more than welcome to eat the wiring in my bosses car if he wants as well

It gets forgotten that BBMF have 2 Chipmunks, I wonder how much life they have left???

And yes they do eat peanuts!
