Water landing with two damn great engines hanging from the wings, better than textbook. The likelihood of it going nose down must have been quite high. Yes, the co-pilot must have been just as involved as the pilot. Anyone now the procedure for a water landing?

Only thing that I know of is that if theres any waves they try and land along them not in to them.

I do remember ready an article on ditching in the Pacific and it included landing in the tree canopy, presumably jungle! The waves were also mentioned there. I assume the technique is to keep the nose up until forward movement is minimal to prevent submarine effects.
