WW2 airfield security was created by Farnboroughrob
Hi guys this is a bit of a strange one. I have been asked if it possible to find out if a RAF air base site was fully fenced in during WW2. The site is partially on common land and was not fenced in post war. Is there any way to answer this question? What was the standard WW2 procedure for securing sites built on requisitioned land , and some of that being common land. I have seen photos of Air Ministry markers but were these used as markers instead of a physical fence, particularly in 1943-45?

thanks
Rob
