Another item out of the same 'ole, the pass-through pulley fairing in a P-51 bubble canopy for the standard radio antenna (removed on 8AF Mustangs as they used RAF-type VHF radios over here instead). This particular one had been wrapped up for storage after removal, hence the material still stuck to it.

Ooh you lucky bugger. We're looking for a flare pistol mount like that for the Horsa project though we'd prefer it in a bit better condition :)

Really need some help with these bits please guys, they where found on a B-17 crash site.

The first item appears to be a roller of sorts, the casing is aluminum, it's not bull turret as the A/C did'nt have one it had a radar dome instead.

The sole surviving remains of the UK's first atomic bomb - Blue Danube! It weighs in at 4 tons, and has a fissue core inside?
A mystery surrounds its purpose in the program? But it caused quite a stir amongst the historians at AWRE! Someone saw my photo and recognised it for what it was! It was recovered by the guys at Sywell Aviation Museum, where it now resides.

It sits on the tyre simply because part of it has crumbled away, and this is the only way to display it, apparently!
