If I recall, Dunsfold was accessed via a country lane. My first visit was in 1972 and it was a little harder to get near it then!
From the north (Stovolds Road) I agree, however there is another access from the south through 'Compass Gate' accessed via Dunsfold Road past the 'Three Compasses' pub.
I never used it myself apart from once in 1980; I had arrived by air and the SATCO took us out to the pub for lunch but as I was 'driving' I only had a soft drink!
