Canadians in air crash
METZ Mast France). Sunday.
Four Canadian airmen. whose wives live at Nottingham, were among the survivors after a twin-engined Bristol freighter crashed at Marville air base near here yesterday, killing seven.
The aircraft, based at Langar-cum-Barnstone, Nottinghamshire. was on a routine transport run, from Grostenquin to Langar by way of Marville when it crashed, in fog.
Six of the passengers were killed instantly and a seventh died at Landstuhl. West Germany. latter being flown to hospital there.
The Air Force headquarters said that seven people were slightly injured and three unhurt.

Yes indeed and 1950s - the concrete looks pretty pristine doesn't it

In 1969 I was doing my gliding training at Locking airfield.
There were 3 of these RCAF Freighters parked outside of the Western Airways hangar where I think most of these were built.
Those ones had camouflage and thimble radar domes offset above the cargo doors
They were there most of the autumn and winter awaiting disposal I think

This might be a bit harder. and was taken as the airfield site was being prepared. It didn't look much different when in use.
