USAAF, FORWARD AMMUNITION DEPOT, BURES

Over the past fifteen years I have extensively researched "USAAF Station 526" the FAD at Bures in South Suffolk
There were 2 others in East Anglia:
Earsham, Nr Beccles Suffolk
Barnham, Nr Thetford Norfolk
Bures was by far the largest, servicing both the 8th and 9th AF

The 8th USAAF 'Barnham' site was actually in Warren Woods AAF 587 (now Elvedon Forest Holiday Centre at NGR TL 802 804)

Not to be confused with RAF FAD Barnham 3.5 miles to the east

Alan, do you have a publisher/seller source for the 3rd Edition?

Peter,
I am the author, the manuscript should be going to the Publishers this Monday
They will just check the layout, margins etc then off to the Printers.
I will let you know when they arrive
Alan

June 2024, the book had its 4th Print-run
Initially, the 1st ed was 102 pages, but with new information being donated, the 3rd ed contained 144 pages
Lots of minor updates and how the Muntions were disposed of via Harwich, legally and illegally
Sold over 500 copies
I am now working on a 4ed, if there is enough demand to cover the publishing cost
