I came across these from the American National Archive, via twitter user @WW2Airfields

In the margin, in pencil it says "British Type Matting"

Yes.
US had :
- Army track ( a basic "poultry mesh"), also used in Breat Britain
- Bar and Rods (not common)
- Irving Grid (not common) Are there Irving outisde of USA? I saw one fence in Normandy that look strangely like an Irving grid. Mystery. Maybe coming from a platform of a wrecked ship?
all inspired by the French interwar "chevron grid" and by industrial grids
- and the most famous and successful, the only to see action today : PSP
