Landing Grounds Corporation

I have searched online for references to the Landing Grounds Corporation without luck.

I was at the National Archives today with Jim C to study aircrew losses from Hunsdon. But in the first few pages of the Station Operational Record book I noted that this company or organisation treated Hunsdons new runways with 'Alexion' as an experiment, but it was 'not deemed a success'.

Can anyone enlighten me as to who were the LGC, and what was 'Alexion'?

I'm guessing.

Alexion was probably a trade name and may have been connected with the camouflage of runways by chemical treatment.

And a fair guess too Peter.
I guessed one or two myself ranging from anti skid/slip to some sort of concrete sealant. The name 'Alexion' seems familiar though, despite google not throwing up any tangible trace.

A kind fellow from the RAF Commands forum told me who they were,

LANDING GROUNDS CORPORATION (GREAT BRITAIN), LIMITED
was registered as a private company on July 13, with a nominal capital of £10,000 in £1 shares. Objects : To carry on business as contractors, constructors of aerodromes,landing grounds, etc. The first directors are Edward Goddard and Joseph E Bradrick.

Just got to find out what Alexion is...err.was
