Weather Radar (Met Office)

Seen around the UK, and in some cases associated with or located on airfields, are the Met Office weather radars. Designs vary, but this is the type I'm most interested in:

Does anyone know the name/number of this type?

Does anyone have dimensions and/or drawings?

If you go to www.metoffice.gov.uk/corporate/library/f...eets/factsheet15.pdf it will tell you all you need to know about UK (and Ireland) Weather Radars (except, annoyingly, the type of transmitter! But I suspect that there are several different types (and ages!)). Some are located on (or near) airfields but most are on fairly high ground in each area so as to reduce 'permanent echoes'.

Many thanks for your reply. That PDF is very interesting. I'd love to get a 3-view drawing version of Figure 4! Also, I'd swear there are more sites than shown in the map (Figure 3). Perhaps they are older (decommissioned) or perhaps owned by organisations other than the Met Office (perhaps wholly owned by MoD)?
