Same building on different stations.One has been heavily changed and the other is fairly standard. Just interested to know it original use. Thanks

The clue is in the canopy as rain and tear gas do not mix very well without hurting!
You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

On a slightly related note.....

Both the buildings in the wartime photo of Bassingbourn are still standing.
What is/was the building in the background?

It was a pub, it is nothing to do with the airfield at all - apart from when the personnel went there drinking! It is currently closed and boarded up and has been for a while

Ye I passed it yesterday, a real Art Deco gem. Shame really as it was obviously built at the same time as the airfield. Very insightful of a brewery perhaps? A captive sourse of patrons maybe.

I found this on the Whaddon village website:

The Waggon and Horses (later The Antelope) at Whaddon Gap ceased trading in the 1990s, the original timber building first recorded in 1876 having been replaced in 1938.

Many Thanks for that. The interesting thing for me is that until this year the first photo was being used as a Gas Chamber.I doubt they knew this because before that it was the Laundry room.Thanks again
