Defence Estates - Job Cuts

Just released on the BBC News.

"Defence Job Cuts: 2,500 to go before 2014" - specifically, Defence Estates is to be replaced with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

if theres any job cutts within mod in my opinion it be the greedy buggers who work within carrilion enterprise who maintain a vast quanity of mod estate. de are over staffed to. bout time

I must admit I have to agree with the above, they are over staffed to hell here with old buggers quietly awaiting their pensions and not giving a stuff about the camp or its future.
Carillion have already made reductions in staffing here.

they not in north take linton office which covers church fenton. 2 tso`s foe mechanical and electrical 2 for buildings and grounds a site manger a cluster manager a miner new works manager and 2 admin. my last sit had 1 3 staff for 3 sites. theypassing cutts past them direct to us. our bosses have to cut 2 million from buget which is hard as we strectch thin as it is. worlds going mad lol

I wonder what exactly Defence Estates actually do? And I left the RAF 10 years ago and cant recall the organisation, is it a government organisation thats been renamed?

they are middle men. they represent the mod estate and deal with all the aspects of works service etc

Ah got it (I think!) theyve replaced good old PSA.
