RAF West Kingsdown aka RAF Kingsdown

I have been researching the war service record of a WAAF who joined in August 1942 and was put on the staff roster of RAF Kingsdown in October 1942. After various postings she was back at Kingsdown on 4 June 1944, the day before the original date for D-Day. On 8 August 1944, the day of the start of operations finally to breakout of Normandy, she was posted to RAF Canterbury. This was a planned move to move their receivers closer to the continent as the battle moved inland in France. I believe that this was now a cover name for the HDU at RAF Hawkinge from which the early HDU listeners had moved to Kingsdown in 1940. The overall connection of Jean Conan Doyle is most important, particularly after the war. I am confident of this but have no absolute proof. Tim
