Bomber Command Aircraft Maintenance Unit

Bomber Command Aircraft Maintenance Unit was created by Dr_Bishop
Was formed or moved to RAF Binbrook on 21 July 1952.

When was the unit disbanded or posted out?

Does any member on this esteemed site know the answer?

Many thanks.

Nothing in any of my reference books, (apart from exactly what you noted), and nothing on a search in TNA catalogue.

How can units like this appear and vanish without trace?

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

Got it (almost)! Thanks Sturtivant et al Vol.2

Bomber Command Aircraft Maintenance Unit was at Marham circa July /Sept 1948, then reformed at Binbrook 21 July 1952. Fate unknown

However on the same day the Bomber Command Acceptance and Modification Unit was also formed at Binbrook. On 16 Nov 1953 it moved to Lindholme and was renamed Bomber Command Modification Centre .

Bomber Command Maintenance Sections existed at Binbrook (17.1.51 - ?-5-52, Hemswell (March 1950), Lindholme (May - Aug 1949) and Waddington (Apr - Oct 1950 and Oct 1952)

I guess there were issues with 'One of our Bombers needs fixing'. where shall we send it?
