There are a pair (I think. from memory) of big black Robbin Hangars from Hethel (Unsure, but so close to Lotus works to likely be the correct one) used for chemical and grain storage. Its right next to a country road. I will get a picture next time im in the area.
A number of ex-airfield hangars can be seen at Richardson's boatyard in Stalham, North Norfolk:
Blister hangar originally from RAF Metfield
Blister hangar from RAF Seething
They also have two T2s, one from RAF Metfield, which is referred to as the "Black Hangar" and nowaday houses vehicle maintenance, a machine shop, an engineering workshop, an electricians' workshop, the window workshop, wood working machinery and stores. The following information was kindly provided by Mr. Robert Richardson: "This hangar came from Metfield. It has always been referred to as “The Black Hangar” due to it being clad in corrugated tin painted black; it was re-clad in silver in 2013. It is a T2 Aircraft hangar. It has had some upright sections removed to lower the height (by 12ft) but the sections which were removed were made into additional three trusses and used to extend the overall length by 31ft taking the overall length up to 271ft from the original 240ft."
and another of unknown origin, now serving as the boatyard's wet shed. It was lowered in height by 18ft and was extended by six more trusses to make the overall length 303ft. According to the manager it is Europe's largest wet boat shed.
They also have a Butler shed which was bought crated up and in new condition and was originally intended for a wartime airfield but never erected anywhere previously (source: Mr Robert Richardson). Lean-to extensions were added at the boatyard; they are not original.

Evelyn, I dont suppose you can get inside and photograph the framework of the Butler hangar - this is almost certainly the only example left in the UK?
You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Oh, how interesting. Anything else you would like me to photograph besides the framework, should I be successful in obtaining permission to take interior pictures?
Re the Butler Shed/Hangar - Has the original width been increased with the addition of 'wings on each side?
Yes. Mr Richardson, the owner, who gave me all the details when I took these pictures about two years ago, told me that lean-tos - what you refer to as wings - were added.
