Bomb Disposal - Onions and Oranges was created by Peter Kirk
In March 1944 5134 BD Sqn (West Malling) were asked to assist various RAF Stations in examining cases of onions and oranges for explosives. At first I thought these were code names but I didn't recall either of those in connection with code names. My next thought was that they were imported from countries that might have more connections to Axis powers than to the Allied cause and therefore sabotage was possible. If the latter was there ever a case of booby trapped imports?
