On the occasion of our Annual Reunion Dinner at the RAF Club, Piccadilly, London, last November we presented the Club Library with the two books that, together, depict the history of the RAF's Airfield Construction Service and its successor the Airfield Construction Branch.

The event was reported in our most recent Newsletter and, as The Airfield Research Group kindly donated the first of the two books, I am enclosing an extract from the Newsletter covering the event.

Many thanks, again, for kindly donating a copy of Airfield Construction Service 1939-1946 by Anthony Betts, it was greatly appreciated.

Extract from RAF Airfield Construction Officers’ Association Newsletter – April 2014-

Presentation to the RAF Club Library.

Prior to the AGM and Dinner, the Chairman presented the RAF Club Library with a copy of Anthony Betts;’ book ‘Airfield Construction Service’ 1939 -1946 and a copy of Nigel Walpole’s Built to Endure, so that the Club Library now has a complete history of the ACS and ACB from inception to disbandment. The copy of ‘Airfield Construction Service’ was kindly donated by the Airfield Research Group, which published the book. Mr Peter Owen, the RAF Club Secretary, accepted the books.
