Radar Controlled air firing ranges

I came across 8 ranges that were in use and controlled by radar by the late 1950s. Most of the radar sites are the name of the range and these were

Ventnor
Trimingham
Bempton
Inverbervie
Hartland

Druridge Bay ultimately used Boulmer after a few name changes but the following two elude my limited knowledge of radar (GCI + CHEL in this case)

Brawdy (assume to be named after the user)
Smith's Knoll (was called Lowestoft originally and was assigned to the USAF)

Brawdy was located 28 miles SW of Brawdy airfield and was roughly 50 mile long (NW-SE) by 20 miles wide (NE-SW).
Smith's Knoll was 25 miles due east of Lowestoft and 23mile wide (E-W) by 92 miles high (N-S). Was this controlled by RAF radar or was there a USAF equivalent by then?

In the trials the range was monitored for sea vessels by the CHEL and the GCI checked the higher airspace and guided the intercept of the practice target. I don't know if this was the practice by 1958 as radar must have improved and gained new acronyms by then.
