Ultimately the ground. The lack of mention of any other damage lead me to assume it was either a tree or a wingtip hitting the ground. High winds perhaps?

One of runways is at 90 degrees to the old A41 ( Now B4100 ) the other runs parallel to the B4100 on the right just before you dive down Warmington hill going north towards Gaydon.
As they had closed the road I had assumed that it must have clipped something before it nose dived into the runway.
The older more irresponsible in their youth members will recall the fun of the fast hill climb up Warmington hill on the way towards Banbury ?
