Hi Guys
Just wondering if anyone can help me. I am doing some research for a radio programme and one of the topics we are interested in researching is WW1 Leicestershire Airfields.
Does anyone have any info that may be helpful at all. I have seen the sub forum that details the airfields in Leicester and just about to scour through them but if anyone has any info, it would be much appreciated.

You need "Aviation in Leicestershire and Rutland" by Roy Bonser, Midland Publishing, 2001, ISBN 1 85780 089 3.

I would also recommend 'Forgotten Aerodromes of World War 1' by Chorlton , published by Crecy , 2014 , ISBN 9780859 791816 .
The Leicestershire section includes descriptions of the airfields at Blaston (Uppingham) , Brentingby (Melton Mowbray) , Burton on the Wolds (Loughborough) , Castle Donnington , Loughborough Meadows , Peckleton (Desford) , Queniborough , Scalford (Melton Mowbray) and Welham .
Might be of use ?
