CAN YOU HELP?

My name is Jonathan Morris and I am a reporter at BBC News Online in the South West. I am writing a feature about old RAF airfields and what becomes of them after the RAF has pulled out.

I am particularly interested in these airfields and need up to date pictures from them:

Predannack Airfield, Lizard Peninsula - Cornwall
RAF Upwood- Cambs
RAF Stenigot - Lincs
RAF Cardington - Beds
RAF Finningley - South Yorks
RAF Wainfleet - Lincs
RAF Saxa Vord - Shetlands

You can call me in the office 01752 234509 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Hi Jonathan

Welcome to the Forum. Good to see the BBC taking an interest in former airfields. I presume you are aware that Stenigot was of course a radar station and Wainfleet was of course an air weapons range.

There is already a lot of material on both of these sites on AiX.
