They often used flexible covers on the dishes, rather than rigid ones, so the movement would clear any snow and ice.

The trailer looks like one that was used for radar transmitters in WWII - one was found abandoned in a forest!  Can't remember the type number.

Looks similar to a mast situated at Long Lane, Flaunden, about 2 miles south of Bovingdon airfield and close to the 'golf ball' housing a NATS operated long range radar station.
My sister's husband used to drink in a pub in neaby Ley Hill where every 90 days, the radio technicians would turn up and create havoc in the pub with their tales.
