All that people can probably do is try and ensure that any buildings, structures etc around airfields are recorded on the local SMR, HER etc so that if there is a major development then they might be fully recorded and perhaps some retained as 'features'.

I've never understood the need for so many new houses and I'd have thought that the reduction in 'completed' houses has bugger all to do with planning rules but a lot to do with the totally unrealistic prices of houses.

That said, if new houses (and industrial estates, new supermarkets etc) have got to be built then restrict the building to brownfield sites as agricultural land will be in short supply in 30 years.

Or Golf courses? You can't fly anywhere in the SE without seeing at least a dozen from a 1,000ft
