Hi all,
I've finally watched "First Light" the tv programme based on Battle of Britain pilot Geoffrey Wellum's memoir. Can anyone identify the airfield they used please? Various buildings were seen as was a watch tower in excellent visual condition with, probably a film crew applied, camoflague.
I have done a search using various key words but with no success.

Many thanks

Jules

According to this BBC blog about filming First Light it was Wycombe air park . It's an interesting account of how they managed to produce it with one real Spitfire, a replica Spitfire, 50 hours of unseen footage from the film "Battle of Britain" and CGI.

The programme was good good but the book is far better.

Many of the outdoor airfield scenes were filmed at Twinwood Farm, along with our Laing billet being dressed as the dispersal room and even Wellum's childhood bedroom.
It was a fun few days shooting there. :)

If I have remembered correctly there is a good piece on landing a Spitfire at night.
