I agree, however I think with the exception of Old Warden which has proven it can run covid safe shows already, I think we'll see most shows taking place during the second part of the season.
Abingdon's annual show is changing it's date till September -

"Due to the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic we continue to all suffer Abingdon Air & Country Show cannot guarantee a safe event in June for our supporters wishing to attend. Considering all potential future options such as reduced numbers in line with government guidelines etc we have simply decided to postpone the show to a later date.
Additionally, the airfield will be in use for a project during the summer period as agreed with DIO and the Military / Film Company and those involved.

However, we are very delighted to announce the new date being - Saturday, 11th September 2021.
An afternoon Flying Display program will delight our enthusiasts I know, as well as a mix of ground attractions and static aircraft displays featuring a slight World War Two Battle of Britain ‘theme’. The 15th September 1940 marks a significant day of overturning the German Luftwaffe attacks on Great Britain and therefore is celebrated as Battle of Britain Day which we aim to touch upon.

The 2021 show will be an “all-ticket” event and will comply with the latest government guidelines, continually consulting with Public Health England and local Authorities as planning is ongoing. We aim to provide a COVID secure event and adapt the show accordingly to help us stage this annual show.

Tickets will be on sale online from our website from 1st March 2021.
Please remember you cannot gain access to the show without a prior purchased ticket.

Traders / Exhibitors / Crafts and Classic Vehicle and Fly-In visitor forms are now online.
All enquiries are welcome from our Traders, Exhibitors, Craft, Charity, Arena displays, Statics, any other of interest wishing to attend. We will work with you as we closely monitor the pandemic situation and the government guidelines as we go through the year towards September. The restrictions may limit the amount of stalls we can hold for example. Those already booked we will keep you informed and those interested in joining us or have an enquiry for the show please do get in touch – planning is full steam ahead!

Please go to www.abingdonairandcountry.co.uk to find out the latest attractions that have been booked so far.
We hope to see you soon! "

News today -

RAF COSFORD AIR SHOW 2021 POSTPONED

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, and the resulting short-term uncertainty for mass events, the RAF Cosford Air Show team have taken the difficult decision to postpone this year’s event, which was to be held on Sunday 13th June 2021.

Whilst the Air Show Team is disappointed to be in this position once again, they are already reviewing options to create a smaller, socially-distanced event across the weekend of the 11th and 12th September 2021. Further details will be announced through Air Show social media and the Air Show website www.cosfordairshow.co.uk once the position for mass events is clearer.

Air Show Director, Mr Clive Elliott, said, “The health and well-being of our visitors and serving personnel is always our top priority. The team is working hard to develop an event which will include many of the familiar Air Show highlights whilst keeping our visitors safe.”

Customers who have held onto their 2020 tickets can request a refund at www.cosfordairshow.co.uk/tickets or they will remain valid for the next Air Show event.

...But on a more positive note from the Little Gransden Airshow Facebook page-
LITTLE GRANSDEN AIRSHOW GOING AHEAD

Hi LGAS supporters !
We are coming back !! August 29th 2021 !
We have decided to go ahead with organizing a full show subject to the Government guidelines and restrictions.
This means that the format and structure of the show may change to accommodate those requests ..
We feel that in 6 months time the situation may have evolved to allow events to be less restrictive .
Obviously we will inform you of any changes that could impact on our show .
I know you will be very supportive and understanding of our need to adapt should we be required to under Covid rules .
Here’s hoping to see you all again Aug 29th
Tickets will be on sale in the very near future !
We need a website guru ASAP !! to assist our team with various changes ...
Not a lot of work , just maintenance !!!!
Please contact us on this page or the website.

Spies and Intrigue Evening Drive in Airshow at Old Warden.

A couple from last nights show. It was the worst weather conditions i have ever known at Old Warden. The high point of the show for me was the sight of two Lysanders in the air. But the dark clouds were moving in at that point and the display was cut short as the ARCO Lysander left to get back to Duxford.

Great photos Martyn.
Yes I agree about the weather. I’ve been to a lot of shows there now but I can’t remember the weather ever being as dramatic there as it was on Saturday. Thankfully it didn’t rain too much but when it did it was with a vengeance!! Amazingly most of the flying took place including the Edwardians.
