Hi all, i design a few RAF stations for fsx , including Tempsford and Banff. I'm seeking for a good record site plan to finish Raf elvington, as the one i have is to small of a definition for buildings layout. The Raf museum is closed for online inquieries till new year and, as i live in normandy, on site research is not possible.
I need to get one before getting further , as the photo tile needs a lot of rebuilding, and i won't do it if i 'm not sure to finish the scenery through.
here are a few screenshot of my tempsford and Elvington WIP
Thanks for the the tip! night lighting won't be perfect, this is the default taxi lights system, i could create real looking taxi light effects , but they would be treated by the sim as single objects, meaning all the blue and amber light, more than a couple hundreds objects/texture/effects weighing on the frame rate, and relying on sode or custom coding to switch them on and off, the trade isn't worth the price . On the other hand, i"m developping the Chance light trailer, to light the runways, and eventualy the pundit light beacon , if fsx effects range allows it. For the the time being i'm finishing the rebuilding of the photo tile, as elvington changed a lot in the 60's and that is almost achieved. i'll post screenshots of the blending tests later
Here we are, the photo tile is almost set, some modern bits and pieces are still to be erased, but overal it is the best merge between then and now landscape i can come to.
My half good quality photo alowed me to put some buildings, huts and roads, but a lot of the actual ways and buildings had to be cut off, far more than i would expected, even some of the TB buildings weren't there or not in the state they're in now.
Anyway i have to wait for a good will to share a good RSP including the building schedule to complete the airfield.
I'm not sure how accurate mine is, because I can't remember what I based it on, I'm afraid. I haven't done the aerial photo background, though, I'm afraid.
