Dear fellows: I am planning to built a 1/35 scale jeep and to convert it to a rescue vehicle. Unfortunately I have only found some B&W pictures. I think the bonnet is painted in red over a OD overall colour; the side fire extingushers should be carbon-dioxide, but cannot recognize colours of stripes. Furthermore I seek info about rear seat equipment. Thanks in advance, dedox (Italy).
I will follow your WIP also because I will build a Tengah version myself. I don't know the engine bay colour, but I guess there is no reason to (take the engine out) over paint the inside of the bay (and floor, and inner sides...). dedox
I`ve decided to paint the chassis in Olive Drab and will include the engine compartment and bonnet inner.
Jeeps were only re-painted in British cam colours when overhauled, and as this is an RAF vehicle it would not have received the abuse of the Army ones, so probably wasn`t subject to a major overhaul.
I`ve done the engine in pale blue as engine changes are not unknown and in the late 40`s early 50`s were probably workshop re-builds.
The body will be Red, when I`ve finished detailing it, with Yellow bonnet and grill.
I`m still trying to source the bell for the front though.
I`m using the Italeri Fire Jeep as a base so the 2 rear extinguishers come with it, as do some ladders, but I am having to scratch build the ones to fit inside , the 2 large CO2 ones for the steps and the 2 Pyrene ones for on the front wings.
I don`t have the means to do WIP photos but will try to put some up of the end product for people to pick over.
Good luck with your build.
I`d say that I`m about 33% through it at the moment as I haven`t touched over the xmas period.
Why do I have to pick a subject that is hard to research?
