Airfix F-117 Nighthawk

Just recently completed my latest Airfix project: A Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk.
Quite a challenge to build as it wasn't moulded as good as it should have been. Did a lot of filing down and filler to make the cockpit, wings and tail fit tight. Also used an entire pot of Humbrol Matt Black No.33, or 3-4 coats of paint to give an even un brush stroked finish.

Those little No Step Decals were a nightmare. They just wouldn't stay put.

Did some detailling to the optics by using a Matt Green and a second coat of Gloss Green.

My next project is for my ATC Squadron to build an Armstrong-Whitworth Whitley made by Polish company GoMix. can't read or speak Polish but i'll have go at it.

Nice looking kit, seems strange that they have now all been retired though. I wonder what there is flying now that we don't know about yet..
