The new forum

Generally I seem to have problems with some of those robot barriers, especially the picture based ones. I had one once that said tick all pictures with a crosswalk. No idea what one of those is! I usually give up as in most cases these are forums I just want to reply to one post or ask one question, although some are local government websites where I want to submit an enquiry. In one case I resorted to snail mail and got a quicker response, also by snail mail.

They do not seem very effective at eliminating SPAM.

A friend was CTO of a major software company in the US, years ago he told me that a friend of his wrote a little piece of Java script (I think) that could respond to the ones that display a group of letters in different fonts and sizes. He did it just for his own amusement but it shows that it is not impossible.
