OK, so a very little nit-pick on the new forum style which I have gotten used to quite easily - but eventually.
It is nice that there is a nice little 'flag' that points out where there are 'new posts' and that can help a lot.
But, as far as I can tell, the flag only disappears if one actually goes into that particular sub-forum and read the 'new posts'. So, I assume that the 'new post' facility is user sensitive and member specific when a member logs in?
It's a personal thing in my book. I don't need reminding of posts that were new when I last visited the forum as they were on a topic topic (or station) in which I don't really have an interest, and they can almost be a nuisance as they are redundant and giving inaccurate information. So... is it possible that there could be some sort of automatic (or even manual?) reset that when one logs out, all 'new post' flags are reset? And then 'new posts' can really be 'new posts'!
I set my preferences to 'since last visit, but found that if I logged on (say) in the morning and only read a few post in the Recent Post list and then logged off that when I logged in later there were NO posts in the Recent Posts list requiring me to do some hunting.
I have since amended my preferences to 'last 24 hours' and that solved it.
Post that are selected from Recent Posts and read do not disappear from the list when you close them which can leave you wondering if you read them at all. The saving grace is that above the title of each Post is a little green note stating New replied and how many' This note does disappear from the Recent Posts following closure after reading
So look for the Green Note in Recent Posts to determine if there are unread posts on the topic..
