The default forum search time has now been set to any date rather than just for the last year, so hopefully that will help make finding things easier as it is a setting that was easy to forget to change.

Brilliant. So far I have forgotten to set it every time I searched!

Excellent - caught me out several times in the early days - much tearing out of hair!

This Forum Search is so much better than the previous one - 'Yes your search term exists - somewhere in this 100-page thread!'

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

It also differs widely as to where it plants you depending if you are logged in or not!

Wow! I never knew this was such an issue until REF raised it today.

Come on guys, don't suffer in silence, chirp up and Chris and I will see what we can do to help.

This forum is new and there will be a lot of things that need getting used to, but there are some things that we can affect changes and improvements to but unless we get feedback it won't happen.

One note of caution though, if you do feedback, "The search doesn't work" is not enough information. We need to know what you were trying to do and a description of what exactly it is that isn't working. It will help to understand what is happening.

I may just be not seeing it, but there doesn't appear to be a "search within thread" function.

I think you can only refine it down to search in categories Paul but I'll check.
