Went to Raf Holmpton Rotor 3 bunker yesterday and took over 200 photos I am having trouble posting some of them on the forum topic of this site.
Does any one know how to post photos or has this question been asked before I cant find anything from a general search
Thanks
When you reply to a thread or set a new one up click on add file below the box you are typing the message in. This allows you to browse to the photo you want to add. Select the picture you want. Click OK or similar. You will see the file name appear in the grey box next to the Add File box. If you click on 'Insert" it will paste a URL link to the file so that the picture can be seen in all it's glory on the forum.
If you want to add another, just click on the next 'Add File' button and repeat.
The forum is limited to 10MB max upload and 10 picture per post.
Give it a go and let me know if you have any more problems.
How do I ensure that my photos are always the correct orientation when I post them as the preview button only appears to preview the text and not the images ?

David,
This doesn't link to your post. Can you do it again but right click on the #67 number on the actual post and then copy the url link. It will then take me directly to your post. Unfortunately the post number depends on whether you are set to order posts oldest first or newest first.
The difficulty with photos at 90 degrees starts from the moment you take your photo
If you take your photo in portrait mode, so as to accommodate a tall object for instance, your subsequent review of the picture on the camera will detect this and show it in portrait mode so you see a tall thin version
Similarly the same photo uploaded to your pc will automatically rotate the picture so it looks right, but in reality the photo is on its side and your pc is just being clever too
On your pc....
If you rotate the photo using the rotate button and then save the the picture is on its side both in reality and as you see it
Rotate it back and save it and now it is in the correct orientation in reality and as you view it
You can force a save by moving on to the next photo and then back again
The rotate and subsequent save action are required to make this work in each of the two steps above
Then when you upload the forum will display the photo as you would expect
Of course the alternative option is to resist the temptation to rotate your camera in the first place......

Does this work with photos stored on my laptop or do I need to put them on Photobox or similar first

This only works with photos stored on your laptop or PC. You need to use a different method if using a photo hosting service.
