Another chunk of aviation history disappears. The RCAF stores sheds sited to the north side of Langar airfield caught fire yesterday. In use as a paper recycling facility apparently. Some good drone footage about.

For a brief few seconds there it almost looks like a WW2 shot of a raid on Berlin, or somewhere in Germany.

To correct the many local "accurate" local news reports . . .

The incident (still in progress but slowly being scaled down) has involved waste products stored internally and externally and included a significant number of unknown chemicals

Over 100 F&RS personnel in upwards of twenty appliances attended from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. This does not include the multiple relief crews either . . .

The cause has not yet been established
