I recently tried to watch The Quatermass Experiment film of 1955,it was so pathetic....rocket nose almost vertical,props so obvious,keystone cops fire engine , could not stop laughing...,As a 6 year old I was terrified of tv version,creepy music v good....

I don't think you are alone.
A couple of weeks ago we sat down in great anticipation to watch Clint Eastwood in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...which we last watched back around 1980.
Seen now it was awful...sound and dubbed dialogue, even the various effects seemed very "old hat" ...and the sets were kind of "Crossroads" standard.

But the Music was Great !!!

Me too at aged 6-7 years old. Even the name Quatermass sounded scary

What ever you do, don't watch 'The Wizard of Mars'!

It was bad enough when I watched in 16mm at our company swimming pool in the Middle East in1970 but a modified version for TV
which can be seen 50 years later is worse. Ludicrous props like the cardboard spaceship and a spray painted cereal box with bog roll handles as a periscope.

In 1960 this was originally called Quatermaster's' Stores, fitting in with the period. However time and the web has 'corrected' it to Quartermaster's Stores, completely missing the point. However it's on the internet so it must be right.



Superb. It was the flip side of Apache and it was a toss up as to which would be the 'A' side. Both definitely 'Class A'
