My wife got this cake made for me 23 years ago. The Eagle-eyed amongst you will recognise the building as the one at Gaydon, some three years after I published my control tower book. Sigh....!
You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Very nice. I think only wedding cake survives for long periods although we threw our top tier way on our 25th anniversary as the white icing was yellow and didn't look nice - the middle tasted okay though!
For my fortieth I was flying a Tomahawk around north Kent and Essex. I flew on instruments as I couldn't get the hang of the horizon and always put the nose down a little too much. Doesn't seem that long ago really but it was 24 years ago!
I didn't bother with my sixtieth so probably won't with my sixty fifth.
Edit: The control bit cries out for a Photoshop insertion on a real photo of Gaydon.

Not a Control tower cake, but one my (Then) girlfriend made for my Dad. As he loved his fruit machines she made him a cake one. Also done a Formula 1 car for my Brother, can't find that.. yet.
