They look like radar reflectors but can't see why they would be on an airfield

Radar reflectors on an airfield? could be, but difficult to tell in the image.
Radar reflectors are used near at touchdown points so the talkdown radar has a definitive 'echo' to set the approach line up to..

Actually Yes. I found more pics that these fittings are near touchdown point of the runway.
