Fuselage room ? was created by Jim UCC
Working through extant sites at St Angelo, Co Fermanagh and have come across this noted as 'Fuselage Room (Drw no 10834/42), no 64 on map. Anyone out there have the first clue what went on inside? Something to do with fuselages is all I have.

Possibly a training aid.. I understand that some OCUs used a fuselage mockup in which trainees could sit at their assigned stations, pilots, navigator etc, connected by inter-comm and practice the procedures they would experience on actual missions.
Of interest is the 'through' road implying that a vehicle/trailer could be driven through.
Does the RSP indicated that any of the adjacent buildings had a training function?

Aye, 61 was a Hunt Trainer, 57 a Hawarden trainer, 56 armaments lecture room, 62 education block, 59 was a link trainer

I was reminded of a Argus fuselage at the CFB Greenwood museum a few years back, probably doesn’t match your time line, but it may be of interest

I have a feeling they were sometimes called procedural trainers or something similar and this included ditching stations and exit routines as well as those already mentioned.

Procedures trainers. BOAC use to have them for crew at their Technical Training Centre, Cranebank near Heathrow.

Oh yes, was ringside for that, day before it was meant to be scheduled, that and 10 of the pillbox/strongpoints...not a good day. Maps are down but I'll send you exact location

So fuselage room would be smaller version of airmanship hall/gunnery & crew procedures centre?

There is a concrete mock-up of a Landing Craft Infantry at Achnacarry. I believe they practises disembarking from the LCI. I told an ex-police friend and he said they used to practice getting off buses.
I have a file of "trainers" that I was sent, there were "trainers" for everything. I have seen pictures of one used by the RN for training in anti-submarine warfare, complete with periscope on the bottom floor of the bus.
