Coventry Air Raids ,signs for the Fire services

Diagonally opposite the ruined Coventry old Cathedral in Hay Lane is the Medieval Golden Cross Pub on its walls are these painted signs giving directions to sources of water . They were blacked out but the covering has slowly worn off revealing them .One such source of water was a static tank at the junction of Much Park Street and Jordan Well Street which was a circular static tank this became the basement of the Lady Godiva Pub Affectionately known as the Dive win which i spent many an drunken hour .

It is allready a well known local fixture and has featured in the local newspaper more than once . The City seems to have an ambivalent attitude to the famous Air raid and subsequent Air raids even the mass graves are hard to locate. Coventry City Of Culture 21 does not take note of this aspect of Coventry's History
