Nissen Huts and a Home Guard Commonwealth Grave at Smethwick

Wandering about Smethwick i came across 3 Nissen huts at the West end of Coopers Lane /road in the carpark of the Harry Mitchell Leisure Centre the one not pictured is rather refurbished .Looking at a street map probably early 20th century i find that they are adjacent to what is marked as a drill hall . not too far away in the grounds of "Smethwick Old Church" amongst the commonwealth war graves i found this one for a "home Guard Volunteer " which must have a story behind it .

Long ago and far away
