Hi,
Please find attached a image of the Control Tower at Ford Island Pearl Harbour Hawaii taken during a holiday there in Dec 1999, at the time it was in a derelict condition as it was for some long period. During the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbour the structure was only 80% complete, having survived, although being strafed it was completed five months later after the raid. The colours seen here were not applied until the early 1960s originally the newly completed tower in`1942 emerged in a grey scheme.
Since 2007 the Pearl Harbour Aviation Museum has opened in the immediate vicinity located in two original surviving hangars 37 & 79. The tower itself, after restoration which commenced in 2011, was opened to the public for the first time in 2022.
Kind regards, Gerry Rudman
