There is a lot, well a bit, online but 3500 was not a squadron but a Fighter Control Unit. If you search for "3500 County of Kent Fighter Control Unit (or FCU) more should appear.

It appears the unit was based in Marget ans was established on 8 January 1947 and disbanded on 15 October 1958. Curiously Hansard records on 13 November 1957 that 3500 FCU is to be retained. Obviously, even then, a denial by a government minister really meant the opposite was going to happen!

The forum has a few pieces:

Also if your parents served in 1950 the National Archive hold the Operations Record Book (a Diary) for 3500 FCU. - The reference for it at Kew is AIR 29/1381, although you will need a readers ticket to view the book in person of wads of cash to get it copied for you. In any event it may only be an odd month or two or even an amalgamation of odd pages from many years. Some of these vary considerably in their coverage and content.
