Hello - just decided to join as I'm currently doing some research on East Moor Airfield near York. its part of ongoing research into places of interest near the village of Sheriff Hutton which our Sheriff Hutton History Group is involved in.
Apart from the immediate interest in East Moor, i've been an active member of Subterranea Britannica and am part of a team researching the Paddock bunker at Dollis Hill, North London which was an alternative Cabinet office site during WW2. With my research colleague we have accumulated a large archive of related material and I've prepared 3D-CAD models of the bunker - although it has been hard to be accurate since there are to our knowledge no actual drawings extant to work from and everything has had to be either taken from on-site measurements or from anecdotal and photographic evidence about the surface part of the bunker which has long since been demolished..
I've a general interest in most 20th century military structures, although airfields and undergorund structures top the list.

For basic research of East Moor you would require a copy of a Record Site Plan showing layout and function of buildings. Presumably you have one?
I wish I did! I'm starting from zero really - Since East Moor is within spitting distance of Sheriff Hutton and indeed one Halifax crashed within the parish, its of significant interest to our Histroy Group, and the more we can find out the better.
We are lucky in having a proper controlled archive store and we are building up a significant body of material concerning the history of the village and its immediate surroundings - this is really a part of that. I'm going to be including a piece about the airfield in a talk next year and can probably glean enough for the 5 minutes needed from online sources - but it does strike me that there is more work to be done (as usual!) so here is a good starting place!
