Hello
My name is Roger and am a member of the Solway Aviation Society and museum at Carlisle airport. At present I am researching into the WW11 Drem lighting system for the archive
that was used at this airfield which was then RAF Crosby and have picked up a lot of useful gen from the forum but still have quite a bit to go.
I am also interested in early avionics up to and during WW11 and hope to contribute to the forum in the future.

Hello Roger,

Ah a T1154 transmitter I see. Bought one as a kid from a 'local' ex-MoD scrapyard and struggled to get it home on the bus. Not sure if my parents were impressed or not. I think the bus conductor was!

From my records Crosby had Drem Mk.II. It didn't have Contact Lighting; it was deemed unsuitable for SBA beam approach, but it did have ASV (BABS Mk.IC) radar approach system(s) installed.

Send me a pm and I'll send you some stuff on Drem

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite
