I am trying to find out any details on the above subject please.
I am researching my Father's Royal Artillery wartime service and I am sure that he was at this location in the Army Camp just outside this small town.
I have momentarily drawn a blank on what happened to him as he was posted to Johor Malaya just across the straits from Singapore and captured by the Japanese when overrun in February 1942,. After that details are very sketchy.
By one of those strange coincidences I found myself posted to Blandford when I did my National Service driver training here in the Royal Army Service Corps, which is now I believe part of the Royal Logistical Corps.
