I’m not really into airfields and or military history per se, but being a fan of drag racing for many years and in particular Santa Pod (Podington, Bedfordshire) I’ve been aware of the military heritage of that former airfield for some time and have a general interest in modern history - [articularly how it affected the landscape of Britain. Anyway after cantering around looking for stuff about the past, I came across this site, so I’ve registered to see where my curiousity takes me!
Welcome to the forum. Having been to Santa Pod on a very wet day I can't say I found it that interesting but then again I was at the British Grand Prix once when it was still using Brands Hatch and that was very tedious. 5 Seconds of cars whizzing by by then quiet, and so on and so on - all day!
My dislikes aside I hope you find something of use on the forum.
