Hi, I am a retired RR employee who is interested in old vehicles. I notice you have a lot of contributors about Leavesden Aerodrome in Hertfordshire. I purchased the ex RR Leavesden Fire Brigade's 1953 Thornycroft Nubian Airfied Fire Tender in 2013, which I am in the process of restoring. I wonder if anyone has any information about this fire engine during its period in service (I believe this to be from 1953 when the de Havilland engine company bought it, up to 1993 when RR closed the facility). I am particularly interested in any stories and old photographs.
