I have joined Forum because I am part of the website Reelstreets that endeavours to establish locations used in commercially distributed films and then to take "Now" shots showing the changes that may or may not have taken place during the intervening years. This is largely for historic reference but sometimes to reveal fashion or even lifestyle changes. Indeed, for many of us it is just nostalgia but there does seem to be quite a large world wide interest in knowing "where was that filmed?".
My own particular interest is that of films made during the late 40's into the early 60's and a number of them use airfield locations that, for my colleagues and I, are almost impossible to identify. With the knowledge and resources of your own Forum I am hopeful that some of our "unknown locations" might be identified for us. At the same time, by highlighting films where there are actual moving images "we" might be able to point you towards scenes that are indeed now lost to us all. Guidance as to how and maybe where you would like me to start a thread would be appreciated.
